This weeks topic of the week is Content ideas for your website. I would like to hear what kind of ideas you have for content for your site. Some agents out there don't understand how important content is for your website. If you are an agent starting out with a site and it is a template site, this is the first thing you need to do, rewrite the content on your site so it isn't the same as all the other template sites out there.

Market updates would be good for buyers to get an idea of what is going on. You would have to add on a monthly or quarterly basis and stay current. Keep the old info and compared changes.

Great idea Ken, Good way to be able to add some new content to your site on a monthly basis, which is also important to help your site rank.

Writing about an area's history, climate, nature, recreation, etc.

When doing a search for "kennewick real estate" this site: www dot kennewickrealestate dot org has always been #1.

I believe it is solely due to the area specific content, as mentioned above.

Unique Content. There's no substitute for unique and changing content. The search engines are experts and checking if your content is duplicate content so don't be tempted to borrow or share your content. Take some time to write unique, relevant, informative content and the search engines will love it. Even if you update your content don't discard the old content. You've taken time and effort to write it so put it on an archived page of its' own. It will still get hits and will still be sending traffic to your site for years to come.

Considering Buying Content? Be cautious of buying low-priced content. Many content providers use software to 'spit out' many variations of the same content so they can 'stack it high and sell it cheap'. You will be wasting your money and could have your ranking penalised as a result.

Be careful with property updates. You can only talk in percentages and generalities. I posted the properties that sold through the MLS and got hit with a fine.

You can post about specific closed properties, but might need to use a resource other then your board (if they won't allow it). The information all becomes public record so it isn't to hard to get.

those are some great tips and with the ever changing real estate market, it can be quit damaging if the content is not fresh & up to date.
