Sorry it's been a little bit, but this weeks topic of the week is Blogging. How many of you have a blog? I recently wrote about Real Estate Agents and Blogging and how important it is. If anyone has a question about blogging or would like to know where to start one let us know.

I've got four blogs all on region specific events, news, activities, etc. All are feeding into my site, providing fresh content. However, I wonder how Google looks at RSS feeds relative to dup content. In my Google analytics, I have noticed Google visiting more often since I started the blogs. I am not sure if it's coincidence or cause and effect.

I have a blog but I'm not a very good writer. Do you think it's better to hire a writer? or just hire an editor?

I know that here are a lot of good freelance writers out there.

I know what you mean about not being a writer, I have that problem myself. I'm getting a little better, but I don't know if I would hire one or not.

I have a blog and a few sites that are blog sites, that would be a website built around a blog. Here is an example of a new one that is for a condo conversion that I am running, www.RoselleCondos.com . While there isn't much there, been to busy selling to work on my sites, this is a great way to have a site and a blog in one. Build one authority site as opposed to 2 different sites as many agents have been doing.

I have recently created a Blog at propertyworld-reader.blogspot.com so wait with some anticipation for any response or traffic to it.

I have 2 on other sites and 1 on my site. I can't trace any leads from them but they increase the search engine traffic to my site which has helped my serps.

Blogging on a regular basis will help your search engine placement that's for sure.

That is the key to do it on a regular basis. Not being a great writer myself I do understand that it can be hard some times. On one of my other sites I started giving away free blog sites for anyone in the Real Estate industry so they have another place to create a blog and write about their site. You can check out the Free Real Estate Sites and create one yourself a free Real Estate Blog. It's built on the Wordpress platform and it's a great way to write about your main site and link to it from time to time. The more you write the better they will rank.

Good to know,

one thing that I found works well is when you are on a role don't stop writing. You can write a week or two worth of blog posts and save them in notepad. Then you can copy and paste when it is time to update.

I do have a blog, but I just can't make anyone to look at it o.O i don't know how to promote it... is not like I can do all an SEO work just for a blog... I think maybe is just easier to have a website.

Rachel there are a number of ways to promote a blog. Just think outside the box. If your blog is neighborhood specific (hyper local) or even just city specific (local) then you have LOTS of very inexpensive options to promote. If your blog is trying to be to much and cover huge amounts of areas then it gets a lot harder.

The more local the site the easier it is to promote to your target audience.

Within a neighborhood you can easily put up door hangers or flier. Signs on each of your listings. Set up a neighborhood garage sale, provide the signs which will be placed all around town with your domain included on them. Just think along these lines and you will have more then enough ways to generate visitors without even ranking on the search engines.
