Is there any way to determine where in the search results your pages falls when searching on google with specific terms. With yahoo you can easily find your page. In part this is because I pop up relativly high in yahoo so don't have to scroll through many pages. But having the search result counted is very helpful in yahoo.

I don't rank very high in google, but I am interested in knowing how many pages one has to scroll through on google before people find my page. Any way of doing this. A spider that with crawl though the search results looking for specific terms?

http://www.googlerankings.com/ is another option. You hae to get a API Key, but that is easy and free.

Very Happy with googlerankings.com I just found out that over the weekend we went from a google ranking of 0 to a google ranking of 3! Nice.

But now I wonder how to get listed in Yahoo! and MSN, arent they suposed to be free just to have a basic listing or did I dream that? Laughing

You are kind of interchanging a few topics.

You going from a 0 to a 3, that is PR (Page Rank). It really means little other than an indicator of the value of the page based on links only. See this post about Page Rank.

As for being in the indexes of all of the SE's (Yahoo, MSN, and Google) yess it is free. All you need is a few quality links pointing to your site and you will get indexed pretty quick.

When your site is going to rank is different story. It could be days for MSN up to a year or more for Google. At that you might never rank if the term you are trying to rank for has a lot of competition.

Best of luck!

I found another tool that seems to work pretty good, with helping you find your rankings with Google, Yahoo and MSN http://ckdisco.com/pimpgenie.html. You can check from 100 - 1000 results. Let me know what you think.

Gees, I checked myself (tried "kennewick real estate") and am looking good in Google, but nowhere to be found in Yahoo and MSN! Sad

Hi...I assume there is no reason why I should not give googleranks.com my API key? However, I am not so sure that I want to pass it around to sites. As you put that meta tag in for google, once verified you can pull it out of index.htm page. So it is not public information if you pull it out after you verify it. Not sure I want to give that out.

Thanks so much for the great info.
