Hello
I’m an active duty service member stationed in Seoul South Korea. I am close to retirement and strongly considering a career in real estate. At the moment I’m thinking about real estate sales & brokerage. I have taken all of the core classes and will soon test for my license. As I enter this new industry one of my main questions is how does all of the internet home location sites (realtor.com etc.) affect the real estate market? It seems as if these type of sites make it extremely easy for buyers & sellers to accomplish their goals without any agent’s assistance. What does the industry say about the future of realtors & brokers? Will selling & buyers agents become obsolete in the future? _________________ Mario V Johnson |

Mario,
First off welcome to the forums !!! I do not think that Real Estate Agents will become obsolete in the future. I think that the number of agents might go down, but that's also just because for a while there everyone was becoming a aeal Estate Agent. I'm not an agent myself so maybe one of the other members can touch on this a little.
I do know that around 80% of home buyers are starting their search on the internet and this is a reason to have a website and work on getting it to rank well with the search engines, that way they find your site instead of realtor.com.
Let us know if you have any other questions. _________________ Thanks for joining US Real Estate Directory !!! Check out our Blog, that is open to the members to announce their real estate site!!!
